Why not?
I guess it should read, "I am NOT shrouding myself in glory."
My castigator said to me, regarding my emotional vigilantism: "you are not shrouding yourself in glory."
But I have never THOUGHT I was shrouding myself in glory. I am just trying to cope.
I am confused about what kind of person might say these things to you and why. I can't even imagine a mother telling her child these things that have been said to you, or one best friend saying them to another.
I am, however, a little intrigued with the idea of one who might shroud herself in glory, and what this would look like (it would necessarily be religious, and would have something to do with both death and fashion . .. )
I'll just say it was a soi-disant pope
